The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an immediate opening for a Principal Investigator / Research Associate at the K. Lisa Yang and Hock E. Tan Institute on Employment and Disability in the Extension Division / Outreach.

This position is responsible for extension research activities and administration in one or more thematic research areas. The Principal Investigator / Research Associate is responsible for independently designing, developing and delivering research and related services that are closely aligned with the strategic mission and core values ​​of YTI and the ILR School. The Principal Investigator / Research Associate will be responsible for contributing to the writing of research reports and scholarly publications for submission to peer-reviewed journals. This position reports to the Associate Director of Research at YTI.

The Principal Research / Research Associate is a full-time, academic, non-permanent, term position with an initial appointment until December 31, 2024. The position may be reappointed based on the recommendations of the respective Project Director , the YTI the associate director of research, the director of the YTI and the associate dean of outreach as well as funding and work available. The rank of the position will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Project Emphasis: This position will conduct program evaluation, research and dissemination activities in support of several research projects funded by the Yang-Tan Institute on Employment and Disability (YTI). The position will be responsible for the design and implementation of research studies, communicating summary research results to team members, conducting literature reviews, writing research reports and review for funding agencies and scholarly publications to submit to peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the grant of the proposal. writing and assisting in the writing of annual project reports on a number of ongoing YTI projects.

Qualifications:
• Doctorate in rehabilitation counseling, rehabilitation psychology, organizational psychology, education, program evaluation, applied research in social sciences or related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience and demonstrated competence in qualitative and quantitative research methodology.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, providing independent critical thinking while taking into account diverse opinions and approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to qualitative data collection and analysis, statistical data analysis, instrument design, conduct observational field research, report writing research and manuscripts for publication.
• Proven ability to use and learn different software packages and web tools.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth literature reviews in target areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative environments and contribute to innovation and successful team results.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Formal and in-depth educational preparation (3 to 5 years) in the field of employment and disability policy and disability inclusion in the workplace
• Two or more years of experience in a research and program evaluation environment.
• Proven ability to design and operate databases, use computerized statistical and analytical applications and design results and impact studies.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and make presentations to large audiences.
• Demonstrated writing ability and scientific record in the employment and disability policy and / or disability inclusion in the workplace
• One or more years of demonstrated experience writing and managing successful grants.
• Vast portfolio of presentations to a large audience.
• One or more years of experience translating research results into user-friendly and accessible publications for use by stakeholders.
• One or more years of experience designing distance and / or online learning tools for professional development and planning purposes.
