Job Overview As a Research Associate, you will work with a team of flow cytometry scientists supporting the preclinical and clinical teams of Champions Oncology. Primary responsibilities are the preparation and handling of primary samples, including peripheral blood, ascites, and other liquid biological samples. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to; * Isolation of white blood cells by density gradient separation * Culture of primary immune cells (experience with T cells, NK cells, dendritic cells, macrophages) * The preparation of samples (murine or human tissues / cells) for immunostaining and acquisition by flow cytometry * Cell culture for primary cells and cell lines * Perform multicolor flow cytometry, including stand-alone use of the cytometer (s) flow (s) and flow analysis software * Perform ex vivo and in vitro tests for endpoints relevant to immuno-oncology (e.g. ELISA and multiplex cytokine assays) * Troubleshoot, optimize and develop methods for unmet experimental needs * Project management: Maintain laboratory records and notebook, organize and compile data and write s weekly results reports Qualifications and Skills * BS with 2 years experience or MS degree required. * Industry experience working with preclinical and clinical samples is preferred. * Experience with multi-color flow cytometry is required eferred. * Expertise in aseptic techniques for handling primary human cells and for culturing mammalian cells * Proficiency in processing primary tissues and other samples for downstream testing * Proficiency in immunostaining, Acquisition and analysis of flow cytometry * Experience working in a regulated environment (BPL or GCLP) * Proficiency in the MS Office suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Creative problem-solving skills and ability to exercise sound and accurate judgment to make timely decisions. work environment * Must be able to sit and use hands for touching, handling and touching. * Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds. * Must be able to remain seated for long periods of time using a computer in an office environment in a multi-level facility * Some activities require repetitive motions and reaching, pulling or pushing. * In performing the duties of the job, there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards. * Routine tasks require exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue.
