Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will contribute to research activities related to:

  • Research and development of learning approaches and systems to effectively teach design for safety and occupational safety and health

Applicants will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) to conduct academic research and/or administrative work. Specific professional activities may include:

  • Design and conduct research studies;
  • Perform a literature review on appropriate topics related to the project;
  • Develop teaching and learning content;
  • Develop innovative teaching and learning approaches;
  • Collect data through a questionnaire survey, interviews, focus group discussions;
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses; and
  • Write research articles, reports and proposals.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • For the position of Research Assistant, a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in the fields of construction management, project management, civil engineering, architecture, education or a related field;
  • For the position of Research Associate, a Master of Science in the fields of construction management, project management, civil engineering, architecture, education or related field and at least 3 years of professional experience;
  • For the position of research fellow, a doctorate in the fields of construction management, project management, civil engineering, architecture, education or a related field;
  • Eager to learn, independent and responsible; and
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English.

Remuneration:

  • The salary will be commensurate with the qualification and experience of the candidate

Applicants with the following will be preferred (not required):

  • Good academic and research training;
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals; and
  • Work experience in the construction, built environment, design or education-related sector.
