Part-time research associate

Job description:

Product Knowledge is looking for a part-time (after-hours possible) Research Associate to augment our team as we develop winning strategies for products supporting our nation’s fighters. Our clients range from Fortune 500 companies to small startups, all with a singular goal of empowering our military with the best equipment in the world. The successful candidate will provide research support and analysis to our leadership team while engaging directly with our clientele and their Department of Defense clients. They will familiarize themselves with the DoD’s system of integration and joint capacity development; the DoD planning, programming, budgeting and execution process; Congress authorization and appropriation processes as well as other aspects related to the deployment of emerging capabilities in the force.

Main Responsibilities:

Research supporting client projects with a focus on DoD capacity gaps, DoD budget and DoD policy issues;

Identifying and deconstructing key attributes within emerging capabilities and correlating these attributes with DoD capability gaps and requirements;

Needs assessment of DoD clients, identification of dependencies:

Proactive development of innovative ideas supporting the interests of our clients and communicating them to the Product Knowledge team and partners;

Identification of problems, delimitation of obstacles and development of options to resolve them in order to obtain a satisfactory result;

Identifying emerging trends, as well as assessing the influence of these trends on the effectiveness of our clients’ programs;

Writing reports to clients related to the status of current activities;

Desired skills:

Demonstrable experience in analyzing DoD budget justification documents;

Understanding of Defense Credits and National Defense Authorization processes and their impact on the adoption or acquisition of capabilities for DoD.

Required Skills :

Ability to collaborate and communicate at all levels; build relationships, discuss controversial issues and summarize various points of view to reach consensus;

Ability to conceptualize, organize and draw conclusions from incomplete data and present a compelling analysis of findings and issues while identifying, articulating, documenting and mitigating knowledge gaps;

Demonstrated skills in research and analysis, written and oral communications and presentations, and document management;

Ability to summarize the results of a study and produce a written report to support decision making;

Strong organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills, as well as an independent problem-solving ability;

Ability to manage logistics, planning and note-taking, and to summarize the results of meetings or conferences of the Product Knowledge team, our partners, our clients and government clients;

Ability to balance responsibilities between assigned activities, including the ability to effectively manage transitions from one task to another, and adaptability to different client needs;

High level of expertise demonstrated in the use of business processes and Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).

Compulsory diplomas:

American citizen

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Wage scale:
