The University is seeking to hire a full-time faculty position in Psychology at the rank of Associate Research Professor/Assistant Research Professor, effective January 1, 2022. Applicants must have an international reputation for interdisciplinary scholarship in one or more of the following areas: (1) Research Methods; (2) school psychology; (3) Developmental Psychology, (4) Psychopathology; and (5) psychological assessment, and (6) counseling psychology. A strong interest in one of the following areas will be an advantage: (1) school/child/clinical assessment and counselling; (2) youth mental well-being; (3) special education; and (4) developmental disabilities.

The appointee will join the Faculty of Social Sciences (https://www.ln.edu.hk/socsc/) and will be expected to assist in the development of the Master of Science in Work and Organizational Psychology Program (MWOP) and the Master of Psychology Program (MAP), develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, publish high-quality research, apply for competitive external funding, perform administrative duties, provide leadership and mentoring roles, as well as participate in academic and professional activities.

General requirements

The successful candidate must have a PhD in the relevant discipline from an accredited university, a distinguished record of publications in leading journals and academic achievement, and a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, a record of educational/academic/clinical experience, evidence of being a strong mentor and advisor to students, and experience in university administration.

The appointee is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and service to the Department, to the academic community, and to be actively engaged in quality research and publication.

Appointment

The terms of engagement will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuities, and travel and baggage fees for the eligible appointee.

Appointment will normally be on an initial three-year contract, subject to review and mutual agreement.
